#Talking5G with Nicola Egan, Digital Champion at Central London Forward

#Talking5G with Nicola Egan, Digital Champion at Central London Forward

Our latest report, Connected Care: How mobile connectivity can help councils overcome the challenges of delivering adult social care,  includes a foreword written by Central London Forward’s (CLF) Digital Champion, Nicola Egan.

In her contribution to the report, Nicola explains that technology is an important part of the solution to the growing adult social care challenge currently faced by local councils. Technology is already reshaping the way adult social care services can, and are, being delivered, with the expectation of even more rapid advances just over the horizon.

She explains: “Mobile connectivity enables the use of digital technologies and applications which can support the provision of cost efficient and high quality adult social care. It also assists with the very real financial impact challenge councils face in delivering adult social care.”

Further to this, we asked Nicola for examples where mobile connectivity has assisted the delivery of social care. She explains that at CLF they work closely with the other sub regional partnerships and boroughs across London. The London borough of Sutton is trialling an Internet Things of Things (IoT) programme where they support at risk people to continue to live safely in their own homes.

In this video we also ask Nicola why is it important local councils embrace mobile connectivity and what can they do to assist deployment? To hear Nicola’s in-depth answers to these questions please take the time to watch our latest #Talking5G video here to find out more here.
