Mobile UK submits a response to DCMS consultation on consumer advocacy reform in telecoms

Mobile UK has submitted its response to the Department for Digital, Culture Media and Sport’s consultation on reforming consumer advocacy in telecoms.

Commenting on Mobile UK’s response, Hamish MacLeod, Director at Mobile UK, said:

“The mobile industry believes that wholesale reform of consumer advocacy arrangements would not be in the interests of consumers of communications services. It would be a much more efficient and a natural progression to enhance the existing Ofcom Consumer Panel than to give the mandate to another body.

“This approach will make the best of and build on the expertise within the Consumer Panel and, we argue, fit more seamlessly into the emerging consumer advocacy landscape.”
