District Councils Network – Mobile UK outlines the central role of local government in mobile connectivity

District Council Network

Mobile UK is once again sponsoring the District Council Network’s Annual Conference and in doing so is demonstrating the central role of local government in building mobile Britain.

2020 is set to bean exciting year for the mobile industry with the Shared Rural Network proposal currently awaiting formal agreement between the Government and 5G networks being deployed across the country.

Mobile UK is engaging with the District Councils Network to promote a message of partnership with the industry. Building new networks and extending coverage will require new priorities at a local level and the close interaction of planning departments.

Commenting on Mobile UK’s sponsorship of the District Council Network’s Annual Conference, Gareth Elliott, Head of Policy and Communications at Mobile UK, said:

“It is a pleasure once again to be sponsoring the DCN’s Annual Conference. With 2020 set to be a big year for 5G and the Shared Rural Network partnership with local government is going to be ever more important. Working with the DCN and its member councils we stand ready to deliver on both our ambitions to provide world leading mobile connectivity across the UK.”
